Kira works together with her clients to create a safe, collaborative, growth-oriented space in therapy where constructive ideas can be identified and practiced. Outside of session clients will be invited to practice new ways of acting and thinking. Kira wants her clients to know that therapy involves work. And it can be a joyful process of growth and improvement.
Treatment of Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression
Kira works with individuals struggling with the effects of trauma, depression, and anxiety using a variety of techniques including mindfulness, trauma-focused CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and narrative therapy.
Peace Building (Conflict Resolution) for Couples and Families
Kira is a trained Arbinger facilitator and can help you and your family identify and shift dynamics that invite conflict, as well as gain awareness about areas of “self-deception.” We all have blind spots, but it is much more difficult for us to see our own blind spots than those of others. Kira can help you and your family member(s) gain insight, and practice new patterns that invite peace instead of conflict. Kira is also trained in the Gottman couples therapy approach.
Therapeutic Work with Adolescents and Parents
Kira has been working with adolescents for over 10 years. She is passionate about helping young people become their best and cultivate constructive relationships with their families. Kira also teaches a relationship course for parents and is experienced at helping parents improve the relationship with their teenage children.

Kira Butler is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Kira received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland, and her Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy from Brigham Young University.

Rates for Service
Kira does not accept insurance. Her rate is $120 per session. She will work on a sliding fee scale as needed. Sessions last 50 minutes.
